He stood up, microphone in hand, over one hundred pairs of eyes completely fixed on him.The sun was dipping low in the sky leaving a dreamy glow on everything it touched. He looked over at his daughter, just to his left. She sat at the table. Her groom, her husband was sitting next to her. They exchanged a glance, and then he began to speak.
It didn’t matter if you had known them for your whole life or for just a few brief moments. There was not a dry eye in the vineyard. I struggled through my own tears to make sure I didn’t miss a single word, a single moment. The only thing missing, the only person missing, was her mother. I did not have the privilege of meeting her, but through the words of his toast and through the love that poured so clearly from his heart, I felt like I got to know just a small piece of her. The family she left behind is a beautiful reflection of who she must have been. Her love and character will be carried on through the ones still here. Through Anna and her father and her sister, and now through Anna’s own family, with Mark and Johnny. I am so honored to have witnessed the beauty of this family.
Anna and Mark, words cannot describe you or your love. As I got to know you more with each little moment on your wedding day, you forever worked your way into my heart. Your own family that you have brought together is nothing short of amazing. Congratulations on your new home together! I can’t wait to see all of your future adventures.
Until next time,
Kylie
